Visit Counting
This site is built as a set of static pages served through a content delivery network, which handles every request as its hosting provider. Pages are self-contained: the files a page needs are loaded from this domain, and no other host is contacted while a page is being displayed. Fonts used on the page are embedded locally rather than pulled from an outside source.
When a visitor arrives from a search engine, a first-party visit beacon records a small set of details tied to that arrival: the page path, the type of event, the name of the referring search engine, and the text of any outbound button that gets clicked. This is triggered only on that search-engine arrival and is used solely to count page views and outbound-button clicks for this site's own traffic figures.
